Well I decided to clean my pcg-grs700p from my cousin, it was hot and shutin down once in a while.
Well it aint shutting down but it looks like i broke a wire with the 2 flatcable wires that connect to the speaker/power panel above the keyboard. I just ordered them yesterday for 45 bucks and i come home to a blank screen. replugged the fat lcd cable back into the plug on the keyboard part. there were plugs on either side on the bottom part of the scrren I replugged those too. Nothing happened. On a lark (from some post) I put it in the frig. 15 minutes later it. worked. then after a minute or two it started to flicker. i think tapping the laptop had some effect on the flickering, but it would also do it itself, then it went out. Any ideas? i got it cheap....might as well try anything to fix it..within reason |

Cold things contract whilst hot things expand. If something is broken/ cracked, cooling may down may make the connection and things work. BUT as soon as it gets warm it expands and the connect is lost.
Sounds more like the flat ribbon cable socket than the cable. If it is easy, remove the cable and clean the ends with a soft pencil eraser. NOT to hard, you just them shiny. BG |
