Administrative tools

Hello, I'm making sure that I have Administrative privileges. So I'm in administrative tools>Computer Management>System tools>then Local groups but there is no Local groups option there.

Why is this missing? Please help.

to check priviledges go into the control panel and click on users

Are you using XP Home, MCE, or Pro? What you are looking for isn't in XP Home.

The administrative tools you seek are not in XP home. You can, however, get the MS Shared computer toolkit for XP. Its free and it will give you many of the features of Pro, but not all. I use it because I needed the admin tools too.

Ok I just installed the tool kit & it said I needed a hive cleanup? I DL that too. Now what do I do?

Found a quick fix to my isue. I logged under my wife's account & it installed. LOL. How do I fully remove the two softwares I just DL now?

Add/Remove Programs, I would presume. In home, you can just look at the user accounts control panel and make sure you have 'computer administrator' under your name.
