Sounds like the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery is dead?
The RTC is sometimes also referred to a CMOS battery, however, on these machines it is just a RTC battery. Look at section 12 of the following link for info. It appears the RTC battery is under the keyboard and NIC cover. Some of these RTC batteries have small pigtail cables like cordless phone batteries. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/su...01_rev1_us.pdf JamesO |

Re: Compaq Evo N600c
hi. i have an n600c laptop. the function button on the keyboard is stuck and hence when i am typing the function keys are what are being used. To type correctly, i will have to connect a keyboard and type. is there a way to turn off the function key since i hardly use any function buttons ?

Re: Compaq Evo N600c
Real_Bullet:I agree with JamesO's post. Also, you may want to try using Internet Time updating. Windows updates this every few days, so I recommend using this:
http://www.argosoft.com/rootpages/TimeSync/Download.aspx Download ArGoSoft Time Synchronizer. It installs a control panel applet that configures it. nashman20: Welcome to TSF. Please start your own thread. It keeps things organized and allows our technicians to help with one issue at a time in separate threads. We'll otherwise gladly be able to help. ^_^ Thanks! -Eddie
