external speaker problem
i recently bought a new acer aspire 5672wlmi laptop and im chuffed to bits with it. however,as im at uni i decided i needed some external speakers to give me better sound quality so i purchased a creatvie inspire t3030 2.1 speaker system
however, when i plug the cable into the line out/spdif jack and then into the audio output no music can be heard the speakers are on as i can hear slight fuzzing and the green power light glowing on the desktop wired remote. i was wondering if it was soemthing to do with frequency or something,,,but then im new to laptops and im here any help is greatly appreciated thanks |

Ahh, a 5672 WLMi user! *pats laptop*
You will see three jacks on the front of your laptop to plug sound into - plug your speakers into the further-most right jack for audio out. Check your Volume Control settings by double-clicking on the little grey speaker icon in your system tray/notification area. You may need to check the settings in the Realtek HD Audio configuration - double-click the little orange speaker icon for that. |

the speakers have a frequency response of between 20-40khz when i check the realtec settings i only have the option of 44.1khz, 48khz, 96khz, and 192khz is there anything i can do to lower the frequency...or do i need to swap the speakers?? |

Those are recording sample rates. Don't change them. Make sure its plugged into the green jack. Check the speakers on another device, such as an MP3 player or another computer or laptop.
