Roll Eyes Connecting Toshiba Satellite Pro 410CDT laptop to wireless

Does anyone know how to enable my old toshiba laptop (satellite pro 410CDT) for wireless card - it runs Windows 98SE. I've tried for hours, with no results. I have installed a wireless card driver and when I plug the card it lights up like it has a connection, but the card's configuration utility program that should allow me to choose the network doesn't appear. Also, my browser can't connect?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Please post make and model of the wireless card. Also please tell what you are connecting it to and if it is encrypted.

Hi,
I am using a GemTek Wireless PC Card and it connects to the non-encrypted wireless network in my neighborhood coffe shop. It works with no problems on my other computer and this card states that it should work with Win98SE.
Thanks.

Are you sure your system is 98SE and not the original 98? Have you tried starting the wireless utility yourself?
