Sleep Mode
Good Afternoon!
For the past month, I've been having problems with my acer going into sleep mode. Everytime I try to put it into sleep mode, my screen will go black but it doesn't quite make it to sleep. The light that indicates that it is asleep doesn't go on. When I press the power button to 'wake' it, nothing happens. I now have to press and hold the power button to comletely turn off the computer. I'm not very good with computers, so small words of what you need to know would be appreciated Thank you so much dac |

Hi, me again....so I went to the acer webpage and updated my video driver.....it didn't help unfortunately :( Any other suggestions?!
Also, while I have you, I noticed at the Acer website there were other driver updates, I've never been there before, should I be downloading all of them?! |

Well, the modem driver is for your modem, the touchpad driver is for your touchpad, the Flash BIOS will update your BIOS (which might help), the audio drivers are for your sound, the launch manager is probably for shortcut buttons on the keyboard, cdrw32 is probably a firmware update for the CD drive, the chipset drivers are for your chipset, the LAN is for your network card, the video is for your video card and your wireless drivers is for your wireless card. You should try the BIOS update. If that fails, proceed in updating all of the drivers, one at a time. You might have to disable sleep altogether...

What does this mean?!?! Do I just put in a diskette and save it to that drive? or do I save it to the computer?!?!?
Description This is a Flash BIOS for the TravelMate 230/280 systems. Ensure that you have a blank bootable diskette for this self-extracting file to expand to. Insert the diskette and boot the system to install the Flash BIOS R01-A1D. |

you download it to the computer. when you run it it makes a floppy you boot your computer from to update your bios.
I think I would try the chipset driiver update before you do the bios update
