Language on Win XP

Hi!

I bought laptop in France. It has Windows in frach language. I woukd like to changed it to english. Is there a way with some language pack or I should buy new licence?
If I need new licence what is easy way to do iit and leave all other programs and data on PC.

OK, but what should I change. I was trying to change some stuff there, but that didn't change the Windows, just ome settings are different?

You can't change the language of the entire OS unless you install a different language version of it.

You'll need to get a copy for English or whatever language you want. www.newegg.com and www.tigerdirect.com both sell OEM (no box or manual) English version for about $140 for Pro and $109 for Home.

I believe that many non-english versions of XP are international. You might be able to use regional settings.

What I dicovered is, that primer language is not possible to change. Only if you have English version and want to change to some exotic language iti is possible (dai link to microsoft) and even that is not complete translation for most of languages. Some settings (keyboard...) are customizable.
So I have to choices:
1. To buy new licenc in English (i dont want ot pay twice)
2. To continue to use Franch version (annoying for system messages)

Well, i discovered that MUI is VLK. That means that you can't get that nifty international version because it's for businesses. Microsoft offers Language Interface Packs (LIP) that installs on top of the English XP and changes the UI to another language. I haven't found an option to install English in another version.
