Dell Inspiron 1200 keyboard problems
Hi Everyone
I have a Inspiron 1200 with some serious keyboard issues. I purchased the laptop a little over a year ago and so I'm no longer covered under warranty. The laptop was working fine for a whole year until today when all of sudden everything went wrong without me spilling anything on the keyboard. These are the problems I've been having: 1. when I press the t key, I get t and 4 (t4) 2. when I press the y key, I get y7 3. when I press the 3 key, a "Find" window pops up allowing me to search for text 4. when I press the 0 key, I get [0 5. if I want to delete a line of text and I press and hold the backspace key, only one character is deleted 6. pressing the "end" key also activates the right click button on my touch pad 7. pressing "2" also activates the Caps Lock The problem seems to be that when I press certain keys, they perform the correct function in addition to performing another, undesired function. To give an idea of how frustrating this problem is, I have been writing this email for over an hour because I constantly have to stop and erase the extra 7's and 4's and turn off the Caps Lock as I'm typing... Please help!!! |

Exact4ly7 t4he same problem
I have exactly the same problem. This is the second time it has reared it's ugly head. I don't know how I got rid of it the first time.
If you have managed to resolve the problem, let me know how you did it. I'd really appreciate the advice. Email me: l.d.barraclough@hotmail.co.uk Cheers Lee |

Shoot for a new keyboard. eBay is your best bet. So many people screw up their laptops and sell the good parts for dirt cheap to get some money out if it.
