Dell Inspiron 9100
I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 that I am planning on selling, and I was wondering what a reasonable price would be. Here are the stats:
Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.8Ghz Windows XP Home Radeon 9700 64MB Video Card 1650x1080 Res. 15.4" display 60GB HD 24x DVD/CD-RW Drive 1.256GB memory. (one 1GB chip, one 256MB chip - if this is a problem I still have the original second 256MB chip, it has worked fine for me though) If there's any more info needed, just let me know :) |

Add:
Original battery w/ integrated subwoofer (don't ask...) Second battery (9 cell, no subwoofer, less than a year old) 4 USB ports 1394 Port (Firewire 400) Ethernet port 56k modem DVI-Out/VGI out S-Video out Adapter PCI Card Slot Sigmatel Audio Near perfect condition, never had viruses, very very little spyware ever on it, of course clean install though. Visably the keys are moderately worn (some slightly shiny, the spacebar is very worn on the left side) No dings or dents. |

Can you explain the battery with an integrated subwoofer? That sounds a little wierd...
For a screen with a high resolution, decent video memory, DVI, and all the other great features, I would recommend selling it for about $500-600 USD (if you are trying to get rid of it). I would say the max you can get is 900 for the good specs and screen. So long as you sell it with the good batteries, it would make an excellent machine for one to buy. Good luck in your selling! |

Ya... The original battery was a 6 cell, with a subwoofer built into it. I have no idea why Dell decided to do it this way, but they did. The subwoofer somehow connected to the audio chip. It sounds good, but the battery life is abysmal. This, and the fact that the battery got old is why I got a new battery.

Yea.. I'm not gettin that battery subwoofer combo...
The way you are describing it seems like it is a battery with a subwoofer mounted on the battery itself. Re: Battery: A 6-cell? That's not very many! Good batteries (that I know of) generally contain 8-12 cells. (12 is the fancy high-capacity batteries) |

Indeed, those are desktop replacements; but I'm still not clear on that subwoofer. If you have that camera handy again, perhaps you cound demonstrate this?

I am shocked! That is quite an unusual idea! That's Dell for you, always trying to make new standards and custom styled parts... Thats pretty interesting, well await more price recommendations; good day!

If I'm not mistaken, the subwoofer is actually on the 12cell battery so that could make a good difference in the price. And have you ever turned the bass down and tried listening to anything? It's obismal! That subwoofer actually does more than you would think!

Yea... this thread it kinda.... old. Think the user abandoned it. And yes, I have used several machines with an sub on/off button. I wouldn't call the subless sound 'abysmal', but it does sound much better, especially with a DVD! Nevertheless, the sub shouldn't be on the damn battery...
