Red Faced HardDrive Lost File System

Hi,
Yesterday I error-checked my hard-disk D:\ with the Windows Xp Error-Checking (while pre-loading Windows) and by mistake i pressed restart. Now the harddisk seems to have been corrupted - in the Disk Management the harddisk is shown as unallocated space and that it is not online. I tried to recover my files through Getdataback yet there was no file system available.

How can I rebuild the file system so that my data can be copied to another harddisk?
Is there a way to recover the hard disk without formatting?

Thanks,
Immortali

Hello:

I must be up front with you; if Getdataback can not revive your files the chances are not good.

If this recovery utility can not get the job done >> it aint gonna happen

I think this software lets you scan and "see" if it will help before you buy (if my memory serves me correctly >> I have played with soooo many of them the details about them gets blurry)

Hi, I managed to retreive all the files. What I did is I loaded up linux, and made the harddisk as NTFS and... tada.... the hard disk was back with all the files. Getdataback couldn't find any filesystem because the filesystem got corrupted. All I needed to do is to tell the computer that that hard disk has an NTFS file system.
Apparently but the problem wasn't from the Hard Disk actually, I ran some tests and the CPU stress test failed... therefore it's time for me to buy a new CPU...

Thanks everyone for your help,
GPG
