Is it possible to have 2 hard drives?

Can I install a second Hard Drive into my PC?
Is this going to slow the processes?:

Hi,

You sure can install a second one, in fact I have 4 in my present machine. It will not slow anything in your computer. Make one the master and the other one the slave and away you go. Hope that helps.

Hi again,

I like smaller fast drivers. I have two machines and they both are configured basically the same way with one being a Pentium machine and the other one an Athlon machine.

I use the following drives on both:

2 Sata drives 80 gig

2 IDE drives 80 gig

1 CD/RW

1 Floppy

1 Iomega 250 zip drive

3 USB Drives 512 each

Both of them work very well and that way I keep specific things in specific places and easy to keep a clones of important information. From time to time I change them around just to try new things. I have used both raid and non-raid on both machines. Presently on this one I am using non-raid and the other Sata is simply an exact clone...never lose data that way.

No, you don't need a special adapter on most newer motherboards. They have enough Sata ports and connectors or IDE ports to work without that being a need. Please note, I could use larger drives on each area, but no need to do that with what I use them for.

Hope this helps...have a great day.

Hi,

Put it in and give it a try. Then download the drive manufacturer's utility and test it against the utility. Here is a link to all major drive manufacturer's utilities:
