External HD security

Hey guys. I recently bought a new external hard drive from the great people of Western digital, usually I dont go for external but I felt like I needed something quick and easy to carry around with large storage capacity. So Im pretty happy with my purchase, but onw thing I noticed was that I cane set up the access rights so that I am the only user on the computer that can use it. btw I have tried to right click > properties > security, but that doesnt do it for me.

Don't think WD do anything special to secure your data. You could encrypt it using a software product. Look for these products in Google or similar (data security encrypt)

Thus the reason why there are no security features.
You will need to format the drive in NTFS to enable security.
