sata config help
Hi, i got a wd raptor 74gb sata II drive and a wd 250gb 300 sata II drive. What would be best for performance to run the two drives in a raid 0 config or use the raptor on its own channel for the operating system and games and the 250gb drive for music, picture, files etc Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my first time using sata

I wouldn't sugest using them in a raid 0 as both the drives will have different read/write speeds as well as different volumes so you will loose/waste space on the 250G and this will drag performance down to a point were it would be a waste of time.
I would personally use the raptor for your O/S and the W/D for storage. I think you would get better performance that way. The ideal setup for a raid 0 is 2 drives of the same volume, make , model

I am not a big gamer so I can only tell you what I would do > If you have a lot of games and you think they will take up a bit of hard drive space i would install them on your 250G drive and leave the 74G raptor free for programs and O/S , but if you only have a few you play then I would put them on the raptor and get the full benifit out of the drive
