Confused Can't wipe clean my hard drive...

Hello All

I have a system that I am running Windows 98 on. I have tried several times to format the hard drive to clean it off however it will not work.

I am using the boot disk to format the drive {format c: / s} but it will not clear it. This is the first time I have had this problem and I don't have a clue what to do. My goal is to erase everything from this hard drive.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Debug your system... This will wipe it clean of all parition information then you should be able to format. The script is as follows:

A:\>debug <enter>
- F 200 L1000 0 <enter>
- A CS:100 <enter>
xxxx:0100 MOV AX,301 <enter>
xxxx:0103 MOV BX,200 <enter>
xxxx:0106 MOV CX,1 <enter>
xxxx:0109 MOV DX,80 <enter>

(80 for HDD 0 or 81 for HDD 1)

xxxx:010C INT 13 <enter>
xxxx:010E INT 20 <enter>
xxxx:0110 <enter>
-g <enter>
Program Terminated Normally
-q <enter>

Have fun!

Hi again....and thank you linderman I am still tyring to download the boot & nuke, it keeps rejecting my floppy so I am trying to put it on a cd now. I hope I can accomplish it cause this sounds like a fast fix for me. I will let you all know how it works out.

Hello 0S1R1S and thank you also. I am trying your code on the system in question while I am trying to burn cd on other puter. But I have run into a stump. Everything works great until I get to the last line I have got posted.

A:\>debug <enter>
- F 200 L1000 0 <enter>
- A CS:100 <enter> {Once I hit enter here I get the following message}

1CDB:0100....and anything I try to enter after this I get this...^ERROR

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong or any other suggestions. I really want to take a sledge hammer to it {he he he} but then I don't think that would fix it either.

Thank for the help in advance.
