Switching Drives with an External Drive Case
Hail to all the Techies in the Forums!
I recently bought a Captiva 2.5" external case which had a Fujitsu hard drive with it (60 gigs).I also happen to have bought a Nomad Jukebox Zen (the 60 gig edition) that had the same 2.5" Fujitsu drive with it.The question is, why does my PC recognize only the Fujitsu drive that came with the case and it doesn't recognize the Fujitsu drive taken from my Zen?And first of all,is swapping HDs from device to device possible? Thanks in advance!

computer experience tells me the swapping should work / after all external enclosures are nothing more than a case with connectors / nothing spooky there are there any jumpers set on the Zen drive which interfere with the main computers config (it should be set to master if I remember correctly for external drives ?????)
try both ways / are there jumper settings on the usb enclosure itself ???? I saw one version where the usb enclosure had jumpers and the user also had jumpers set on the drive in the enclosure >>>> that didnt work joe

Well, are you sure it doesn't recognize it at all? Remember, it's very likely that the Nomad is not formatted with a Windows compatible filesystem. Have you looked in Disk Management to see if it's simply not formatted?
