external hard drives

I'm thinking of getting a external hard drive what I'd like to no is if I can put music and pics on it from my comutor unhook the hard drive and hook it up to some one elses computor and look at the stuff on the hard drive.Hope you understand what I'm talking about.

You can pick up an External USB Enclosure, and stick a 300gig Disk into it, you'll have all the storage you need for around $125 shipped.
