hard disk imaging question

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have an imagfe of my 40GB hard disk drive and I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether or not I can actually restore that image to the 90GB partition of my new hard disk. The program that I use for imaging is Acronis TrueImage. I know I can restore it to a 40GB partition on any hard drive but my new hard drive has a 90GB partition that I wish to use as my new windows XP partition.

i dont know about acronis / but you can do that with xxclone (in my signature>>> free 30 day trial) you can even clone a bigger drive to a smaller drive as long as the info & data package it self fits

example

you have a 90 gig drive >> but it only has 10 gigs of OS and data >>>> you CAN clone that drive to a 20 gig drive >>>> most others cant

Acronis will change the size of the partition during the restore if you desire.
