What are the best hard drives for gaming

I'm building my first gaming Pc and I was wandering what hard drives would be best at 7200 RPM 8MB Cache. I know that western digitals raptor is a good one, but it is a little out of my price range for now. Also what kind of connection is best;Serial ATA II, Serial ATA150, IDE Ultra ATA133, or IDE Ultra ATA100.

hey extreme,

if you can get a SATA II drive then get it. also i recommend getting a drive that supports NCQ. make sure your motheroboard supports it though first before you make your purchase. the WD raptor hdds are indeed good but also check out the hdds from maxtor and seagate.

First off thanks for the advice, a first time pc builder like me really appreciates it. Secondly what is NCQ and how do I know if my mobo supports it.

have you check your motherboard website?? if not try that.
