External hard drive

hello,

I just bought a new venus ds3 external HDD enclosure. It tells me that only Win 98SE needs to install the USB 2.0 driver, so i didnt install anything. It tells me to just powerup the external hard drive and plug in the USB. I did this and my computer did not react to it. I went to the manual and it told me to just got to right click on MY Compter, go down to manage, than go to disk management and the case would be there. well, Its not there.

I have WinXP = ]

The USB 2.0 driver for Windows XP is inculded in the service packs. The drivers were not automatically included because when first shipped, there were too many USB devices that were not tested. You can download the USB driver from Microsoft.com
