External Raptor Problems
Bought these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817146318 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815124012 For this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144200 I have all the drivers installed from the disc that came with the SATA card. Hard drive is plugged in, I can hear it spin, etc. Everything is connected, PCMCIA card slot detects my SATA controller. Problem is, I don't know how to configure the enclosure/SATA card/drive to see it under the hard disk drives category in windows. Directions don't say. One thing...this drive is not brand new-it is one of two twins that used to be a part of a RAID 0 array, and there is still half of the data on the drive from the array; it was never wiped clean. That may affect it's function, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas? |

It probally woulnt be a bad idea to wipe them clean if you can afford to lose whats on them / use fdisk to do that
/ also what version on Windows are you running / and service pack ????? you should be alble to enter some kind of set-up for the sata controller / I would connect only one at a time to make it easier; until you get the hang of it. regards: joe

Linderman - since the Raptor is one of two twins, I can't use the data on it anyway. So formatting it is exactly what I want to do. How do I format a disk in an enclosure that doesn't show up on the computer? Also...what is fdisk and how do I use it?
