Compatibility issue

I recently bought a hard drive (Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM) not realizing it was a Serial ATA150 hard drive. I have never dealt with these before at all. Everything in my systems are all IDE. Will this adaptor fix my problems? The system I'm putting it in is my parent's. The computer is 5 years old. Pentium III 800 MHz, 256 Mb RAM, and god knows what else is outdated. Am I going to run into any compatibility issues there with this kind of HD? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Nope. That's an adapter to use an IDE drive on a SATA controller, you have the opposite issue.
