Need Help with Ext. HD
Hello Everyone. I have a 300 gb. internal hard drive that I use as an external one for my laptop. Today it became corrupted somehow. When I click on the drive, it come up with "the disk in drive e: is not formated. do you want to format now". Of course I don't since I have data on the drive. I actaully had this problem before, adn I fixed it by putting in the command chkdsk e: /f. But now when I run that command, it says someting like "chkdsk cannot run on a RAW drive". I have been trying to fix this for a couple of hours now. I would appreciate any help.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a virus. That hard dirve and the laptop is never used to go online. I can tell when this problem started. It bacame like this when I unplugged the hard drive from my laptop without using the tool on the taskbar that should've been used.

Take a look at PC Inspector, it appears you have corrupted the partition table.

I want to thank everyone for their attempt to help me. I was looking through some of the old threads and found a mention of a program called partition table doctor. It's a very simple program that fixed my problem. I appreciate everyone who took the time to look and consider my problem.
