External Hard Drive Problems
I have an 80GB external hard drive on my computer, the computer recognizes it, but it wont assign it a letter and allow me to access it in my computer. also it doesnt have any error messages, anyone have any suggestions

i have replied to your other thread and will request the other one be deleted as it is a double post in two seperate threads.
my response was thus: Quote:

It appears that you may just have to go to Disk Management and partition and format the drive.
Right click on My Computer, Manage, Disk Management. You should find the drive there listed as "Unallocated". Right click on the drive graphic and partition and format it.
