2 hard drives on ASUS A8V
I had two hard drives set up as independent drives on my computer up until this morning. I had a warranty video card reinstalled (after having a loan card) by a computer tech instore and now for some reason my computer doesn't recognise the second drive. It is recognising my WD 80gig IDE drive as C but my WD sata 120gig drive partitioned as drives F and G have become invisible. I have video files on F I need to work with so it is a desperate situation. The device manager states that the Winxp promise fastrack 378 controller is working, the RAID console SCSI processor device is working but it has a question mark for the serial ATA raid controller. Trying to update driver says that driver is best already and that it's an error 10. In Bios it is set up with raid enabled, sata enabled and lan enabled. I have an Asus A8V deluxe wi-fi board. Can somebody please help me to get the sata drive up again. Thanks

Hi,
Need a couple of answers. Are you using RAID? I noticed that you said raid was enabled in the BIOS, but thought you said they were set up independently. Are you sure he didn't change something or leave a cable off or bump it loose when changing the card? Maybe I misunderstood what you said. Last edited by mark3567; 04-23-2005 at 08:13 AM. |

You can force Windows to accept a different driver. You stated that you lost the drive after you had a different graphics card installed. You might check and make sure you do not have any IRQ conflicts

I am also having a problem with installing XP on SATA Raptor with the ASUS A8V Deluxe. It does not mention it on the BIOS but it has a tab window to setup an array and the HDD is mentioned there. also with my older hdd attached to it (with XP already installed), under device manager there are 2 HDD. I dont understand why it is happening. I have downloaded several bootdisks but none of them seem to work with the installation of xp on the HDD.
The bios is updated. ANY WAY TO CORRECT THIS OR FIX IT? |
