Mistake Dual Display, One Monitor? O_o

I think a problem related to my video card has come back to haunt me again. After I got a problem fixed with a driver size mismatch for my Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 (PCI), I thought everythign was solved. I didn't recieve the driver message until I tried to play an online game, which gave me the same message, preventing me from continuing. I asked a friend what this could have possibly been and he said it has to do with my computer being setup to display on two monitors. If that's true, then that means this whole time my computer thought there were two monitors on my system! I have onboard graphics (currently enabled) and a PCI video card. A long time ago I was able to get the card to work so I could play the high-end 3D games that integrated video couldn't manage. How can I get the monitor to make the video card the primary video option for the computer? I've tried playing around in BIOS on the primary video card, changing it back and forth between PCI and Integrated, but the only setting that give me a "welcome, login, then you may go to your desktop" message (allowing my mouse to go offscreen to the left of right) is what I'm currently set on: Disabled integrated driver, video card uninstalled @ 600x800, 4 bit (lowest).
Hope that made sense. lol

in the device manager disable onboard
uninstall the pci card
turn off the computer and put the monitor cable into the card
go into the bios and set the pci as first detected
save and exit the bios tap f8 as the comp boots up
choose vga mode
when windows finishes installing the card
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer

Cry >_<

I am good up until rebooting. Every time I reboot normally, it shows a blank screen with the mouse that's able to scroll offscreen either to the left or right. Yes, I disabled Integrated video in Device Manager and BIOS. Any other suggestions? As of now, I can only run it in VGA mode.

if you can only run it in vga mode this indicates there is something wrong with the driver install
in the device manager uninstall the card
reboot tapping f8
choose vga mode
when windows finishes booting and reinstalling the card
disable a/virus
install the drivers
reboot the computer
check the device manager and make sure there are no yellow marks
then try setting it up again

There may be something wrong with my CD. I found out that maximizing windows media player in VGA mode while playing mp3s makes the resolution max again, but goes back to bad res when I restart.
