External Hard Drive not recognised

I'm using Windows Vista, and although my hard drive worked fine on my last laptop, it won't register on my new one.

It's a SUMVISION 100gb thing I got from ebay.

I plug it into the USB and it lights up and is powered because it hums very quietly as it always did.

It doesn't appear in device manager or in my computer.

I'd kind of like to get the stuff off it =p but just being able to see it and reformat would be good!

Any help is appreciated, it's a pain =/

When was the last time it worked? I would test the drive on another PC.
