iomega external hd not recognized
Ive been debating on re-formatting for some time, just for a new fresh start. So I decided to purchase an external hard drive to backup alot of the stuff I didn't want to lose.
I purchased an Iomega Select Desktop Hard Drive from tigerdirect. It is one TB and USB 2.0. It is apparently plug and play. Well now thats the issue. I plug the hardrive in via usb cable that came with it and.... nothing. Computer does not recognize that anything was even plugged in. I began to question if my PC was usb 2.0 compatible... after some thorough checks I came to the conclusion it was. Though not for sure, I ordered a 5 port Startech USB 2.0 PCI card from tigerdirect. It was recognized instanty and recognizes anything plugged into it (mouse, camera's, etc.) but still does not recognize my new external hard drive. I've searched relentlessly on this issue and came to nothing, so now I'm here, any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated.
