Re: Generic usb foid device

What does disk managemnt show - post a screen shot please? If it was zero filled then it will need to be partitioned and formatted - after a zero fill there is no filesystem so therefore the OS only seees the physical device, but nothing useable.

Re: Generic usb foid device

How do you have the HDD connected? An IDE drive shouldn't show up as an USB device.

Re: Generic usb foid device

Test the drive on another PC. That will at least let you know if you have a PC problem, or a case/HDD problem.

I have also tried another hard drive in the same case and it worked

I have tried connecting it to the motherboard via a ide ribbon to no avail

Re: Generic usb foid device

When connected to the motherboard, is it identified in BIOS? This is starting to sound like a physical failure.
