Xp boots slower with 10tb hdd

I have Windows XP Home, G43 Chipset Motherboard, Q8300 Processor, 3GB RAM and 10TB (5 x 2TB) HD space.

When I connect just one hard drive, windows boots to desktop in normal time.
When I connect all five hard drives, Window boots up in approx three minutes.

what changes do I need to make to speed up the system?

The number of drives shouldn't matter. Although there is some delay as the motherboard has to recognize each drive during POST. After POST, there should be no difference between 1 HDD or 10 HDD's.
