Inspiron E1505 Vista several error codes SOS!
About 6 months ago I had to reinstall the OS as my computer crashed. Had no problems. Able to reinstall from Vista cd. Updated drives, etc. no problems at all.
Then a couple of weeks ago my Dell Inspiron E1505 OS Vista inexplicably crashed again I wasn't there at the time my daughter was using the computer but she said that nothing out of the ordinary occurred. I wasn't able to do anything. The computer turned on but Windows wouldn't boot. I couldn't open the cd drive so I couldn't boot from cd. I was finally able to run a diagnostic a couple of days later received Error Code 0146. When I looked it up it said replace the hard drive. I didn't order one right away. But the day after I placed the order for the new (w/Dell) I turned on my computer and it magically was running fine. So I canceled the hard drive order. It worked fine for a week then I was alerted that I needed to update some of my drivers so I went to DriverMax and downloaded the "out of date" drivers. Now it's crashed again. I've tried to boot from cd and it loads the files but then when it gets to the opening Microsoft screen it freezes before it has time to completely fininsh. I've run the diagnostics and get Error Codes 0F00:0244 and Error Code 0F00:1A44 with several different block messages with the "uncorrectable data error..." message. I've unplugged everything and let it sit for a couple of days and tried to turn it on again and nothing changed same error codes and messages and the opening screen freezes. Do I need a new hard drive? Thanks for your help! |
