Windows XP Reboot loop

I am having an issue installing a fresh copy of Windows XP.

The issue began when a working PC was imaged using our supposed "hardware independent" image that did not have support in the driver database for the hardware configuration in question.

As a result, it now recieves the infamous reboot loop. As is fairly common with issues similar to this, it BSODs before fully loading Windows setup.

Anyone have any easy methods of resolving this? I do have another machine that is supported by the image so I can boot into Windows, however, is there any easier method as opposed to modifying the System32 drivers folder/registry and forcibly repairing the drivers to fit its true configuration?

This is XP pro and I do have a boot disk with sp3 integrated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Windows XP Reboot loop

Do a repair installation using the CD. http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm This will rebuild the HAL to match the base hardware and leave all other registry settings and apps intact

The issue is that you can't reach that point with this machine. It bsods and reboots before ever entering set-up.
