My computer won't read my Lacie External Hard Drive
I bought a 250gb Lacie external hard drive around three years ago and it has always worked fine. Around two weeks ago it was working just fine, I unhooked it from my computer and hooked it up to another computer to transfer some files and that computer wouldn't read it. I thought there was just a problem with that computer but when I hooked it back up to my compter a couple days later it wouldn't read it either. It gets power so that is not the problem, I have tried several other usb cables so that is not the problem. I tried hooking it up internally in my computer but it still wouldnt read it so did the drive just die on me? If so is there any way to recover all the data off of it?

Re: My computer won't read my Lacie External Hard Drive
It well could have. Can you feel the drive actually spin up when power is applied? If you can feel it spin, then the next step is to remove the drive from the USB enclosure and mount it as an internal drive in a desktop and see if it is correctly identified by BIOS.
