Accessing files on another hard drive?

Ok heres the problem, somehow, my xp laptop computer got infected by a trojan and gave me BSOD and when it restarts it would not go passed the windows loading screen it would just BSOD again.

I have no problem with reformating, the thing is I have some documents that i would like to get off the hard drive first.

So what i did was take the sata hard drive out of my laptop and connected it to my vista desktop. The computer recognizes the hard drive just fine, it shows 250 gb out of my 320.... I can see most of my files (program files folder, windows folder, etc...) i see my documents and settings folder, but i only see "all users" and i do not see my personal documents folder in my case "tony" folder, so i cant see my personal "my documents" folder.

I was wondering how i would be able to see this folder so i can just transfer my files and reformat? maybe i have incorrect permissions? anything would help. thanks.

ps. i already tried going to folder options and unhidding the hidden folders. still nothing.

Re: Accessing files on another hard drive?

Take ownership and copy the files. When you moved the drive to another OS installation, the users from the first system were no longer available http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/how-...ders-in-vista/
