PC keeps restarting
Hi,
I am new to this forum so if I am posting this question on the wrong thread, please direct me on to where to go. My PC use to spontaneously restart on occasion but now it is restarting constantly to the point it will not boot-up past the Windows start-up screen. It does not respond to the F8 key, so I can't use safe mode. I am able to get to the set-up screen (using delete) but since it is constantly rebooting, it is resetting to the default settings each time. Any ideas? Maybe virus? My antivirus software expired. Thanks! |

Re: PC keeps restarting
The setup settings are stored on a chip on the Motherboard, have nothing to do witht he HD or the OS, but could cause boot issues. If they keep getting reset to defaults, it sound slike maybe a bad BIOS battery. You definitely want to get your anti-virus up to date. If you haven't gotten bitten now, you will soon...
