For some reason, just starting today, i could not open certain folders on my maxtor drive. @ in particular. My internet browser folder, and my downloads folder. It said something like "cannot open folder due to I/O error" What does that mean. When i hover over the folders, it says they are empty. Plus, when i click on them, and when they slowly get recognized, the properties say they have no files in them. My DL folder alone should have over 20 GB's of files! Someone please help me, i need that folder back! |

Data without backup is data waiting to be lost.
Other than putting the drive into a desktop and using recovery software to attempt to recover the files, I don't know what you're going to do. It sounds like the drive has failed, developed bad spots, or perhaps simply been corrupted.
