CPU/HD issue

I have a HP a6530f and a western digital wd6400aaks, it has worked for the past year however I recently tried to hookup my old harddrive to my PC I took the SATA cables connected it to the old harddrive and it failed to work, I tried start in normal mode, and from ms-dos prompt and it started to load sys32 files, still failed. HOWEVER the catch is when I hook the sata cables back to the old HD it failed to work also,it just went to a blinking prompt and sailed system disk failure, insert system disk. I did a diagnostic threw the hp diagnostic tool and it gives me BIOHD-2 error and says no drives detected, turn off your system and verify the cables are securely attached. Any ideas? BIOS setting issue?

Re: CPU/HD issue

What exactly were you trying to do? What is the "old harddrive"? and how were you trying to connect it?

Try a different SATA cable. Ensure the cable is connected securely to the HDD AND the motherboard. Also ensure the power cable is attached.
