Hard drive not detected Serial ATA

I just recently restarted my computer and it couldnt start windows due to inability to find the files. I checked the BIOS and no hard drives were listed and tried to get it to detect the drive. I switched the cables to different sata ports but no luck. The drive sounds fine (doesnt make any wierd noises and seems to be spinning inside.) Ive messed around with it for a bit, but no luck. If anyone could please help me i would greatly appreciate it.
its a Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 160G

Check your connections, those small plastic connectors work loose very easily.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! Check your jumper settings and YOUR RIBBON CABLE (Large tape worm looking wire thingies)!!! They can easily put on backwards or in the wrong way and still fit! You can only know it's not working properly when it just doesn't work. Look at the connections because that's where you can check to put it in! Also did you install the software and driver that came with your hard drive in a disk? If not then you need to download it off the internet.

That's probably not going to help because this is a SATA drive.

Since the MB BIOS doesn't detect the drive, my only suggestion would be to connect the drive in another computer and see if it shows up. This would let you know if it is a MB problem or a HD problem.
