Question I need help with

I keep being warned that disk space on my PRESARIO_RP(D) drive is running out and I need to make space. When I go to the suggested process for doing this there is nothing available to get rid of? This lack of space means that I am never able to back up as there appears not to be enough room.

Re: Question I need help with

What Operating system? There is no good automated way to clear up space.
You can use some tools to help like disk cleanup - start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools
You can empty temporary files for your browser
If you are backing up to the same drive, even another partition, then you are in for problems, if that drive fails - your backups will be gone also. Use Windows backup and backup to different media. This is one place where external drives are useful - just don't leave the external running and connected all the time, only when you bneed to backup.
There are some other things you can do once we know your OS and how you are backing up.

Re: Question I need help with

Try here first. The best way to handle this tho is restrict the space available to Volume Shadow Copy and the Restore points, and then maintain good housekeeping, deleting temp files, uninstalling apps not needed. http://www.howtohaven.com/system/tur...py-vista.shtml
