Retrieve Files from a RAID 0 Array
Hello,
I have a 1.36Tb SATA array in 0. There is a file i need to retrieve, now the problem is my windows drive went down, now with a new HDD and fresh XP I cannot view the array. I have updated bios, changed drivers, checked with manufacturer a with no success. ASUS Crosshair MB x2 WD 750's- RAID 0 WD Raptor 150- Windows. I can boot up with windows when I go into bios and shut off the RAID, windows will load and see each 750 but not the array. If I turn on the RAID windows will lock up during startup, even when using safe mode still cant see array. I have tried a couple DOS based programs but can seem to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated, its the mother-in-laws quickbooks file for the company... now she understands the importance of backups. Thanks, Joe |

Re: Retrieve Files from a RAID 0 Array
Or raid1 :) Try r-studio - turn the raid off, you will need to know the drive order in the array and the strip size, then build a virtual array in r-studio and see if you can find the file. You may need to play with the settings some to get it completely correct. At least there are only two possible drive orders tot he array, the stripe size is probably a multiple of 64.
