Maxtor Hard Drive went up in smoke

I was dusting off my computer and I could see inside of my PC and all of a sudden the Hard Drive went up in smoke.

I've since then purchased a new hard drive but is there anything I can do to recover the files? I don't really see any burn marks, I just know that I saw so me sparks and it started smoking.

Re: Maxtor Hard Drive went up in smoke

What is the model number ( not the family name like Diamond Max 10 ) also look at the PCB and see if you see the word 'Calypso' silkscreened onto the board, probably along the side.
