Transfering file from hard-drive of dead computer
HI,
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop thats about 3 years old. It died on me yesterday. I had been having difficulty for about 3 weeks, most of the time the charger was plugged in the computer would not charge. I was able to keep it alive by the random times the charger would actually work. Yesterday it died for good and no means of twisting or turning the charger does a thing. I took it to Best Buy, where I bought it, and they are telling me it's going to cost $150 to transfer one word document folder from the hard-drive to a disk/cd/memorystick. I have already purchased a new Dell laptop, but need the folder from the dead Toshiba as soon as possible. (I'm currently a law student) I don't care about the computer, all I need is the one Word folder. My father told me something about a cord or external device that I could use to remove the files from the dead computer to the new one. Is this my best course of action? Thanks! |
