WD External Hard Drive Space Problem

Hi All,

I have a strange space problem with my external hard drive 320 GB(Western digital passport). It is in NTFS format.

Problem description:

The disk shows that it has data of 275 GB meaning it is 275 GB full out of 320 GB. But when I manually counted the data it is around 100 GB. I tried to find where all the space is utilized, i didn't find anything.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks ...

Re: WD External Hard Drive Space Problem

Open Windows Explorer, select your HDD, right click, and choose properties. That will display how much is used and how much is free.

The files you can't see, may be hidden files. The System Restore files, for instance, or hidden.

Try an app such as this: http://w3.win.tue.nl/nl/onderzoek/on.../sequoiaview//
