My C: Drive is Missing

Without warning my computer turned off, and a blue screen popped up, saying some stuff, that if it was the first time this had happened, restart your computer, which i did. when i got back on, everything was running extremely slow, and every few seconds the programs became "not responding". I have eventually got a Virus Scan to work, and nothing was detected. i also tried using, SpyBot Search and Destroy, it wouldn't load, saying " Spybot cannot be found in C: drive, so basically my C: drive is gone. how can i fix this?

What make and model of Hard Drive? Download the bootable cd version of the HD manufacturer's diagnostics and verify the physical integrity of the disk.
