Disk read error
i have a dell lat. d610 i dropped it off the couch and when i tried to turn it back on it gave me a "A disk error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart" i press it and its the same thing

Unfortunately, it is possible that a connection came apart when the computer hit the floor. So you would need to open the case, which is not simple, and inspect the various connections and re-seat any that may have shifted a bit. Fortunate, Dell does have instructions on disassembly on their website, BUT they are not for the clumsy, inept, or the fearful. But if that appraoch fixes it you have saved money and agavation. GOOD LUCK!
