Re: Buying a External Hard drive
Seagate Maxtor SATA 250GB external hard drive (connects via USB) - £30
http://www.lambda-tek.com/components...prodID=1437010 If your computer has an external SATA (eSATA) connector, this would be much quicker than a USB-connected drive, but as it's only for backups and not constant data transfers, the USB connector will be fine for your requirements.

Re: Buying a External Hard drive
Are you sure it's an external drive? The specs don't mention USB or eSATA.
Also, try and find one with a 7200rpm speed. The 5400rpm model is slower and might not be a recent one.

Re: Buying a External Hard drive
That looks much better. Do you have a link so I can see if there's anything about it that might be unsuitable?

Re: Buying a External Hard drive
Looks good. Well worth the £30 if it's new, although it doesn't mention if it comes with a cable.
Also, with it being from the Argos clearance range, there's no chance of you getting ripped off in the way you might from a private seller.
