new hard drive is slow
good morning: I hope someone has an answer to my question.I replaced my Maxtor 200gb 150 sata hard drive with a western digital 500gb sata.I have the HP Media Center pc ,,xp service pk 3 version 2002. The new drive is very slow on and off the net. It takes 3 tries before i can shut down .The work was done by a pro tech .The old Maxtor ran like a rabbit .The new one is a snail .The tech said i need more ram 3200 ddr and it is not sold anymore (so they say).It would be nice to use the pc instead of always fixing it.
