When I first start my Gateway desktop computer it does the normal hardware cycle and then I can hear the hard drive loading for a while. After a min or so all I get is the monitor led light up and go off. This takes place for about 10 min before I finally get any video. If I shutdown the computer, power and then power it back up it starts up quickly. I only have the long wait if it has been off for a while, not sure how long. I ran Seatools harddrive test on both drives and they were ok. I ran spybot and virus scan and they also were ok. I ran checkdisk and defrag.
What should I do next. |

Re: Computer takes 10min to get to logon
Try testing other cables and another monitor if you have one.

Re: Computer takes 10min to get to logon
![]() I tried my sons LCD monitor on our computer and it came up right a way. I guess it is something bad in our LCD monitor. Would you know what part would cause it to take 10min to warm up? I would like to fix it my self. They probably want more to fix it then to buy a new one. Thanks for your help, Ted |
