Please give advise

I been playing on my computer last night.Everything has been fine.Than i turned around to turn off my TV,and when i turned back the screen on my monitor was scrambled.

It looks like this:

I unplugged everything and restarted, but the screen is still scrambled. My Dell computer is 8 years old.Never had a problem with him.Do you think the screan is dead and i should buy a new monitor?

Sorry if i posted this thread in a wrong place.

Thank you!

and welcome to the Forum

I would try another monitor if that does not make a difference, another video card.

What model is this Dell?
