laptop HD in a desktop???
I have an older HP Pavillion ZE2000series laptop with a 60gb ATA/IDE HD. I also have a dell 4600 p4 w/IDE HD's. The laptop drive failed(?) and I was gonna plan to plug it into the dell to try to pull data, but after yanking it from the laptop, theres no power port on the drive. So now I'm questioning if I can install this drive in the desktop, would I need an adapter or can I even do this??? Asking before I try it and fry something else.
THANX! |

Re: laptop HD in a desktop???
the adapter you are looking for will be like this one here
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.as...=906&sku=17705 ![]() this one looks a bit expensive though . you might also want to think about a USB to IDE adapter there are also versions that have 3.5", 2.5" & SATA connections that will allow you to cover all current hard drives http://techgage.com/article/vantec_s...o_usb_adapter/ newegg also have something similar for $21 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812232002
