SATA WD problems with GIGABYTE
Hello,
I have a GIGABYTE GA-945p-ds3 Motherboard. I have installed a new WD 160GB hard drive. The connections are right and I can feel the disks spinning inside so it has power but when I go into my Bios it won't recognize my hard drive. I am running vista w/ no floppy drive. I know my motherboard has problems with SATA 2 installation other than the first two channels but I have no idea what to do. |

Re: SATA WD problems with GIGABYTE
Have you set it in the bios to be recognized as IDE mode? Have you enabled all the Sata options in the bios? Are you planning on installing the OS on this one? If so, have you set your boot order so the CDRom is first, followed (you have no floppy) by the Hard Drive? Has this drive been formatted? Did you get a copy of the WD Data Lifeguard utility (with retail versions and available for download) to set it up?

Re: SATA WD problems with GIGABYTE
Sorry for not responding. I've done everything I know to do inside the bios. I've enabled all SATA options. I already have my OS on my hard drive that I installed when I made my computer 2 years ago. Can I format a drive that my computer won't notice is hooked up? No I didn't get a copy of LIfeguard Utility. I ordered from Newegg and all I got was a bubblewrapped Hard drive.
